Meet Shelly
Shelly Scott-England is a former educator with a Masters of Education focused in Psychological- Evaluation & Assessment from University of the West Indies, as well as 4 additional degrees in Early Childhood Education, Sociology, Art and Business. Shelly is the founder and Co-Owner of Sage Digital Installations & Repairs Ltd, an Audio Visual installation, integration and maintenance company.
In addition to running her own business, Shelly has volunteered as the chair of the city’s Black Caucus Alliance, a member of former Mayor Bonnie Crombie’s Advisory Board, a board member of BridgeWay Family Services, the Youth Services Director at Rotary Club of Mississauga, the Chair of Saint Peter & Paul Catholic Women’s League and former president of Congress of Black Women - Mississauga. Shelly brings a wealth of experience in business, education, community and finance as well as a deep understanding of the issues facing our diverse communities.
Driven by genuine care for people's well-being and prospects, Shelly is committed to being a voice for the voiceless. She has demonstrated this commitment through her initiatives to help refugees access suitable housing and jobs, garner support for the food bank, serve the homeless, and encourage elderly programs. Furthermore, Shelly’s efforts to foster youth opportunities and leadership through her memberships in Rotary, CWL, and the Congress of Black Women, highlight her dedication to nurturing the next generation while valuing our seniors.
Shelly’s priorities are clear: family, community, and business. She understands that strong families are the backbone of our community, and she is committed to ensuring they have the support and resources they need to thrive. Her multifaceted strategy is aimed at promoting local businesses while ensuring community benefits from government initiatives and funding programs. By providing seniors and youth with access to resources and programs, she intends to boost engagement and well-being across these vital age groups. Additionally, Shelly is committed to collaborating with community organizations to enhance neighborhood safety, ensuring a secure and thriving environment for all.
